“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others people permission to do the same.”
~ Marianne Williamson ~
Gives me chills every time I read it and tears are streaming every time I see that little girl in the movie say it. It reminds me of when I was a little girl, uncomfortable in my own skin, not feeling as if I counted or mattered. I didn’t think I was beautiful, I was definitely smart & intelligent: the perfect combination of being invisible as a young person (when smart wasn’t really cool!).
But look at me now! Hhhmm! When I let my light shine and take responsibility and authority over that in which I was placed on the planet to do… honey, you can’t tell me nothin’!
And when I give it openly and genuinely so that others are able to see it in themselves, I can’t tell them nothin’ either!
I accept it, I represent it, and welcome it!
And so it is!
