• I’m Still Standing

    INVICTUS

Out of the night that covers me,
Dark as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be,
    for my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance,
I have not winced nor cried aloud,
    Under the bludgeoning of chance,
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears,
Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet, the menace of the years,
Finds, and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishment the scroll,
I am the Master of my Fate,
I am the Captain of my Soul.

This poem is one of my personal favorites. More powerful words have never been spoken! What a testament to continuing to go on in spite of it all! We’ve all come to points in our lives when we’ve wanted to give up… just give in! What good would that do us? None whatsoever!

When you’re going through, I’m hoping you can look back on this post and know that no matter what YOU are in control of what you do for yourself! Fear may be present but you are not afraid! Lace up and get ready for the race.. it’s yours to win!
