Everyone has a gift. Something that we have within us that comes naturally, without much effort. The wonderful thing about gifts and the power of dreams is that we can think outside of the normal, outside of what is “possible” and define for ourselves how to best express ourselves through our gifts.
Want to see dreaming at it’s best? Check out a set of children talking about their super heroes and what they are capable of. Many times children take on the persona of these “made up” beings…. wishing, dreaming, knowing, that they are all that they dreamed them up to be. Ask a child what they are going to be when they grow up. You’ll hear so many descriptions of how they see themselves, one not having anything (logically) to do with the other. Let’s not squash their dreams. Resist the urge to judge or say”you can’t do that!”
With disappointments, heart breaks and defeats….wins, triumphs, and conquered goals, we learn as adults to stop dreaming. To stop thinking bigger than “necessary” in order to protect our hearts. To protect and guard that part of ourselves that repeats to us… “You are not good enough!” This behavior keeps us on the straight and narrow of “what we should be doing” versus “what I am becoming.”
What will it take to be enough? To prove to ourselves that we are not who we say we are? That we are not who they say?
Listen to your intuition
Life is short good people! Let’s be about the business of getting it done… for ourselves and for the world.
